It takes Pixar 17 years to make a single movie featuring a female character. 17 years!!! That’s an entire generation of children raised not in the 1950s where one of the most popular companies doing animated films never made a single movie about a girl.

And when one finally comes out, some dude is all, “There are no role models for boys. Where’s the balance, Pixar?”

12 films featuring male characters. 1 film featuring a female character. And their last major feature film killed off the only speaking female (not counting the bird!) in the first 10 minutes of the movie. 

But you want to talk balance and how all those poor little boys out there just aren’t getting their fair shake at the box office this summer.
